Speedball Screen Printing Fabric

Different mesh sizes are used for different applications in screen printing. Screen printng mesh is made with fibers crossing over each other horizontally and vertically, and mesh size is measured by how many threads of mesh cross over each other per square inch. The higher the mesh count, the smaller the holes in the screen and vice versa. High mesh count fabric is best for high detail images, while low mesh count works well for images with larger areas of color. Ink viscosity is also important in choosing a screen mesh. For example, white inks are generally very thick and will have a harder time passing through a screen with a high mesh count. When using a thinner ink it is good to use a high-mesh screen. Thin ink will flood the larger holes of a low mesh screen, producing in a blurry image.
