Gamblin FastMatte Alkyd Oil Colors are formulated to give painters a palette of fast-drying colors that dry to a matte surface. FastMatte colors can be used as a general fast-drying palette, and are perfect for underpainting techniques. When used for underpainting, the matte surface retains the tooth of a ground to promote the adhesion performance of subsequent paint layers. In thinly painted layers, FastMatte colors will dry in approximately 18 hours. This allows painters to work throughout a painting session, while creating a dry surface for the following day.
