Escoda Prado travel brushes are made with fibers that are perfect synthetic imitation of the kolinsky sable hair. The Gold Tame fibers are the same color as sable hair and have the same spring and ability to absorb liquids. Escoda craftsmen and modern technology combine to make a filament that performs like kolinsky, but at a much lower cost.
Each Escoda brush head is made by hand, one at a time. Escoda "cures" each brush with an exclusive process unknown and unavailable to any other manufacturer. This builds a memory into each brush allowing it to keep its shape and enhance the desired natural characteristics of the fine hairs and synthetic filaments.

I am an architecture student at Notre Dame, and I do a lot of classical watercolor renderings of my projects. I have painted my whole life, and this is the best brush for the price I have ever owned. I have a wide range of brushes from real sable hair to one-and-done type synthetics. I bought this brush for no more than $20 and it has held up impeccably well over the course of this year. It is honestly my favorite brush. Size 8 is perfect for me because I can do relatively large areas quickly, but the brush holds its point so well that I can get into the tiny details. I bought this brush for my study abroad trip where I was painting out in the city, and it was great for travel, but I ended up using it for a class project, and now I use it for every rendering I do. I would definitely recommend this brush (especially if you like quality with low maintenance tools).
